The Yazoo and Mississippi Valley Railroad was incorporated in 1882 as part of the Illinois Central Railroad system. This depot in Vicksburg, MS on a mainline between Memphis and Baton Rouge was built north of the Mississippi River floodwall and is susceptible to flooding. The building was flooded above the first floor in both the great 1927 flood and another major flood in 2011 while undergoing restoration as the Old Depot Museum.
