Washington Union Station
Washington Union Station is Beaux-Arts structure. The station began a long
slow decline after the Second World War before largely being closed in 1981
after a partial ceiling collapse. Congress subsequently provided funds to
restore the facility with a significant portion converted to retail space when
the station reopened in 1988.
