The Capitol Limited
The Capitol Limited is an Amtrak train that runs 780 miles between Chicago, IL and Washington, DC. The Capitol Limited name was borrowed from a Baltimore and Ohio RR train which also ran from Washington to Chicago between 1923 and 1971, albeit by a slightly different route west of Pittsburgh. The route is especially attractive during its run along the Beaver River, Ohio Rivers, Potomic River, and the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal. The photos below date from two different trips: a westbound trip in November 2011 and an eastbound trip in April 2014.
