48th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues used to be Music Row, a collection of musical intrument shops anchored by Manny's Music and Sam Ash Music. Manny's closed in 2009 after 74 years and Sam Ash moved south to 34th Street in 2012 leaving the street to a handful of smaller specialty shops.
