Locomotive 8625
Just east of Pier B is an exhibit of a locomotive similar to
the ones that moved cars around the 60th St. Yard.
Locomotive 8625 is a 60-ton, 660-horsepower was a switching engine built in 1964 by
American Locomotive Company. This engine served similar service in Brooklyn's
Cross Harbor Railroad before being retired and moved here as an exhibit in 2006.
