Chess and Checkers House
The Chess and Checkers house is located at the top of the Kinderberg ("Children's Mountain"), a large rock outcrop at the south end of the park near the 6th Avenue entrance and to the southwest of the Dairy. The octagonal red- and cream-colored brick building was built in 1952 as a gift of philanthropist Bernard Baruch, and features indoor and outdoor playing tables.
