Glendale Junction was the connection between the (Lower) Montauk Branch and
the Rockaway Beach Branch. This was the northern terminus of the Rockaway Beach
Branch from when it opened in 1880 until the Glendale Cutoff opened in 1910 to
connect the line to the LIRR main line at Rego Park.
Glendale Junction is just north of Union Turnpike. The rail bridge over
Union Turnpike and a pedestrian bridge over the abandoned line were still
extant when I visited in 2020.
Public access to the portion of the line that runs through Forest Park was a
bit further south where Trotting Course Lane terminated at the edge of the
park.
