Presidential and Congressional Election Data, 2012-2024
State, county, and congressional district election results from the 2012, 2016, 2020, and 2024 US elections.
Data is sourced from state secretary of state electoral results websites.
Geographical Data (States and Counties only)
- ST: US Postal Service two-letter state abbreviation
- Name: The name of the state, county, or district
- GEOIDFQ: Fully-qualified GEOIDs derived from Federal Information Pocessing Standards (FIPS) codes. These can be used to join with other USCB data tables and TIGER shapefiles.
- Latitude: Latitude of the state's centroid
- Longitude: Longitude of the state's centroid
- Land Square Miles: Land area in square miles from the USCB
- Water Square Miles: Water area in square miles from the USCB
Electoral College (States only)
- Electoral_College: Number of electoral college votes for each state

2012, 2016, 2020, and 2024 presidential election results (states and counties)
2024 US House of Representatives election results (119th house districts)
- Winner_YYYY: Candidate that won the area
- Votes_Dem_YYYY: Number of votes for the Democratic candidate
- Percent_Dem_YYYY: Percent of total votes for the Democratic candidate
- Votes_GOP_YYYY: Number of votes for the GOP (Republican) candidate
- Percent_GOP_YYYY: Percent of total votes for the GOP(Republican) candidate
- Votes_Other_YYYY: Votes for other candidates and write-ins, where available
Senate Data (States only)
Senators are elected every six years with terms staggered into three different classes spaced two years apart.
- Class I (Senate1) = 2024
- Class II (Senate2) = 2020
- Class III (Senate3) = 2022
Those class numbers are used in the data to identify senate offices for each state.
- SenateX_Name: Name of the senator in class X.
- SenateX_Party: Political party of the senator in class X
- SenateX_Year: Year the senator in classX was most recently elected. May be offset from other members of the class by special elections.
- SenateX_Votes: Number of votes received by the senator in the most recent election
- SenateX_Percent: Percent of total votes received by the senator in the most recent election

Long Format
CSV files in long format are available for easier analysis in Python or R. 2024 data has complete president by state, president by county, US senate, and US congressional district results, including write-in and third-party candidates. 2022, 2020, 2016, and 2012 data has president by state and some additional data.
