Media Theatre
The Media Theatre opened as a vaudeville house, later turning to movies only. The theatre closed in the '70s but was restored in the mid-1990s as a performing arts and concert venue. I did two shows there when it was run by the Strines as Rockwell Productions: The Student Prince (1994) and 42nd Street (1998). At the time, the shows rehearsed in Media, moved to an old high school auditorium / assisted-living facility in Milton, PA for three weeks, then returned to Media for three weeks. The 42nd Street production was especially problematic and, as Equity deputy, I learned a very harsh and unfortunate lesson about the limitations of collective bargaining.
