Jimmy Davis (1899-2000) was a musician and Governor of the State of Louisiana. This modernist structure was built adjacent to Davis' birthplace in a remote area outside Jonesboro, LA as a meeting place for an annual homecoming to celebrate Davis' life.

I became aware of this building from a faded sign on Highway 167 that we passed on our annual trips from Lake Charles, LA to visit my grandparents in Salem, MO. This seems like a bit of an ephemeral extravagance for a songwriter and it is unclear how well his legend has persisted after his death.
