The Millicent McIntosh Student Center at Bernard Collage was
a structure with a rather barren
plaza over two dark, subterranean floors that housed a dining hall
and facilities for student activities. Aside from using space very
inefficiently, it was butt-ugly. As the beginning of a significant
campus redesign in 2007, the school decided to replace this piece of
'60s modernist dreck with a six-story multi-purpose building providing
a more spacious, inviting environment for students and a more embracing
facade toward Broadway.
