Three Columbus Circle

Opened: 1927

Architects: Shreve, Lamb and Harmon Associates

3 Columbus Circle was a fairly-conventional brick office building until glass curtain-wall madness took over midtown in the early 2000s. With bricks becoming as out-of-fashion as bell-bottoms, the owners covered the old building with glass and, undoubtedly, jacked the rents up to match. Could repointing really have been that hard?
