Built by producer/director/playwright David Belasco as the Stuyvesant Theatre. It was renamed the Belasco in 1910. Served breifly as the NBC Radio Plahouse from 1950 to 1953. Hit the Deck (1927), Waiting for Lefty (1935), The Madwoman of Chaillot (1948), Fanny (1956), Raisin in the Sun (1959), Don't Drink the Water (1968), Oh! Calcutta! (1971), The Rocky Horror Show (1975), Ain't Misbehavin" (1981).
