148th Street Bridge

This ornate limestone staircase at 148th Street carries pedestrians down to a bridge over the railroad tracks to ballfields in the northern part of Riverside Park. The bridge probably dates from the 1934 improvement but the staircase is likely from somewhat earlier, although this area of the riverfront was likely much different when the staircase was build.
