125th Street Amiable Child Monument

This is the grave of St. Claire Pollock, who passed away on 15 July 1797 at age five, probably from a fall from the cliffs onto rocks near the Hudson. This is one of the few private graves on public land, and is a notable contrast to the adjacent tomb of General Grant, which was dedicated almost exactly a century after Pollock's death.
