Terrace on the Park
Terrace on the Park was built for the 1964 fair as a 120-foot-high heliport with a 175' x 200' landing platform. The building was part of the fair's transportation exhibit and the window layout on each side forms a "T". The top floor included a 1,100-seat restaurant with great views of the fair. The bottom floor housed the kitchen and a 400-seat cocktail lounge that served drinks from 24 locations around the world. The exhibit building featured a 12-minute film extolling the glories of the Port of New York and New Jersey on a 360-degree screen. The facility later became a catering facility that was popular for wedding receptions.
