Lasker Rink / Pool
Lasker Rink / Pool is a facility that opened in 1966 located in the northeast corner of the park between 106th and 108th streets just to the south of Harlem Mere. It's named after Mary and Alice Lasker, a pair of philanthropic sisters that paid for the construction.
There was some controversy about it's siting on what was a lovely creek that linked the Loch to Harlem Mere, but the Laskers won and the creek now passes ignominously through a tunnel under the rink on its way to the Mere.
