Harlem Meer
Harlem Meer is a body of water sitting in the northeast corner of the park just north of Lasker Rink. This was formerly a marshy area surrounding Harlem Creek, which flowed east into the East River under what is now 105th Street. Meer is Dutch for lake.
The two 35-story octagonal buildings overlooking the lake from the northeast corner of the park are Schomburg Plaza, constructed in 1975.
A gentrification-special built in 2006-2007 at 111 Central Park North also looks down on the lake.
