Metropolitan Museum of Art
Massive museum in Central Park housing art in practically every medium from every period in human history and every corner of the globe.
Calvert Vaux and Jacob Wrey Mould designed the initial Ruskinian Gothic structure which subsequently was surrounded by a complex of building additions. The better-known Beaux-Arts Fifth Avenue facade and Great Hall were designed by Richard Morris Hunt and opened in 1902.
