LIRR Rockaway Beach Branch: Woodhaven Junction
Woodhaven Junction is an interchange between the Rockaway Beach Branch and
the Atlantic Branch, which runs under Atlantic Avenue. There was a wye connecting
the two lines behind a large power substation.
There were stations here on both branches. The Rockaway Beach Branch station
operated from 1880 until the line was deactivated in 1962. The Atlantic Branch
station operated until 1976.
