Built as the Clemmer Theatre. Renamed in 1929 as the Audian Theatre. Renamed in 1931 as the State Theatre. Closed in 1985. Renovated and reopened in 1988 as the Metropolitan Performing Arts Center. Renamed in 2004 after a popular 20th century singer who grew up in Spokane.
