Seattle Center Monorail
This monorail was originally built by the German Alweg Company to connect
downtown Seattle to the Century 21 World's Fair grounds. The guideway is
composed of 70-foot prestressed concrete beams and runs just under one mile.
There are two articulated trainsets that run on 700 volts DC supplied through
contact rails on the guideway beams. A major refurbishment was completed in
2011.
