This was a single-room-occupancy hotel built by William Chappel of the Rainier Heat and Power Company to house transient workers from Asia. It closed its first chapter in 2003 and sat derelict for a little over a decade. The building reopened in 2016 with 125 apartments and ground floor commercial space following a $24 MM renovation.
