The Daniels and Fisher Tower
1601 Arapahoe Street
Denver, CO
Opened: 1911
Architect: F.G. Sterner
This Italian Renaissance style clock tower was once part of the Daniels and Fisher Department Store in Downtown Denver. At 393 feet, it was also the tallest structure west of the Mississippi. Daniels and Fisher merged with the May Company and abandoned the building in 1958 and the store was demolished around 1971 during the era of urban renewal. However preservationists succeeded in getting the tower preserved and restored as an event space.
