Joy Theatre

1825 N. Railroad Street

Arcadia, LA

Opened: 1930s?

Seats: 263

Presumably this was part of the Joy theatre chain, a modest collection of theatres in Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi owned by Joy Houck that included a moderne flagship theatre in New Orleans.

A photo of the theatre in happier days is HERE. At the time I visited this small town in northwest Louisiana in the Fall of 2011, the village had reinvented itself as a quaint collection of antique shops, but without much need for a single-screen movie theatre.
