Architect: Julian Abele
The auditorium, on the Perelman Quad, was designed by Julian Abele, the first African-American graduate of Penn's School of architecture. The room's high ceilings, long reverb and confusing backstage make it more appropriate for music than drama.
I would say there is a certain bias toward Manhattan when you make a book about New York...Whether you are conscious of it or not, you are contributing to this record of a place as it exists in people's imaginations. And New York as it exists in people's imaginations is mostly Manhattan. (Eric Himmel)
