The Orpheum served both as a film and live performance venue. The Broadway entrance pictured here was originally a loggia leading from Broadway back to the theatre which is set back on Third Street. When I passed in the Spring of 2012, the block had seen better days and the theatre was in the midst of confused ownership and renovation plans.
