Cheboygan Opera House
Opened: 1877, renovated 1984
The Cheboygan Opera House is on the upper floors of the city hall. In contrast to the trend in NYC of keeping theatre exteriors and gutting the interiors, a 1980s renovation lovingly restored the interior while cladding the building with an unfortunate mansard roof that was the fashion of the time.
I can't stand it when other musicians tell me I'm playing something wrong... I know what my music is. I know where the foundations are. There's something in me that comes out, and what is coming out is what God placed in me, and it's going to come out regardless of what anyone thinks. (Joe Sample)
