Cheboygan Opera House
Opened: 1877, renovated 1984
The Cheboygan Opera House is on the upper floors of the city hall. In contrast to the trend in NYC of keeping theatre exteriors and gutting the interiors, a 1980s renovation lovingly restored the interior while cladding the building with an unfortunate mansard roof that was the fashion of the time.
Numbers can have meaning because of what we bring to them. Their value, and meaning, may change over time. But when all that matters is the numbers as numbers, you have zeros. (Doug Glanville)
