Wiltern Theatre / Pellissier Building
3780 Wilshire Blvd
Los Angeles, CA
Architects: Stiles O. Clements and G. Albert Lansburgh
The Wiltern Theatre is in the base of the 12-story Art Deco Pellissier Building. It is named after its location on the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Western Avenue. After falling into disrepair in the 1970s, the theatre was restored in 1981, and when I visited in 2013 was primarily a music venue operated by Live Nation.
The real money is in the publishing, and if you have publishing, then hang on to it. That's what it's all about. If you give it away, you're giving away your life, your legacy. Once you're gone, those songs will still be playing. (Barrett Strong)
