Denver Union Station
Opened: 1914
Denver's Union Station is a Beaux-Arts structure on a site that had hosted two previous incarnations of the station since 1881. At its peak, the station served up to 80 trains a day. When I visited in 2010 it serviced only one intercity train per day (The California Zephyr) and a pair of light rail lines. A subsequent visit in 2015 followed redevelopment of the station as a retail and hotel destination with extensive surrounding transit-oriented development (TOD).
