Silver Meteor: Jacksonville

Jacksonville Station was built in 1972 between downtown and the airport. The former Beaux-Arts union station in downtown became a convention center, although an effort is underway to return the station to downtown in what would be a new multimodal facility. Jacksonville was also the eastern terminus of Sunset Limited service until track damage from Hurricane Katrina necessitated termination of service east of New Orleans.
