Capitol Limited: Pittsburgh, PA

Pittsburgh was named in 1758 in honor of British politician William Pitt and incorporated in 1771. Rail service began in 1851 with Pennsylvania Railroad service to Philadelphia. Pittsburgh Union Station was designed by Daniel Burnham and built between 1898 and 1903 for the Pennsylvania Railroad.
