Mom drove me over to the Sale Street U-Haul office at around 10AM on Saturday and the truck pickup was uneventful. The two days alloted with the rental proved quite beneficial as it required most of Saturday to load a surprising amount of "essential" stuff into the 26" truck.
Throughout the past three weeks I had suggested that rather than spend the time and money on hotel rooms, my parents spend the night with me in the back bedroom. My mother consistently declined stating her fear of the mold that was growing just around the corner. However, when it became impossible to find a hotel room for them on Friday night, they relented and my old full-size bed from my days in Dallas served quite comfortably as I cloistered myself in the walk-in closet to avoid the nocturnal disruptions caused by my father.

If we don't figure out how to change human behavior toward sustainability, we're basically screwed, I think is the technical term. (Paul Ehrlich)
