Lorraine Apartments

This building was originally built as luxury apartments before being converted to a hotel in 1900. The building was sold in 1948 to Reverend Major Jealous Divine as a home for members of his Universal Peace Mission Movement. The building closed in 1999, was landmarked in 2002, and has passed through a series of unfulfilled conversion plans. It's a stunning piece of architecture I stumbled across after dark - making it even more fearsome.
