Bulloocks Wilshire

3050 Wilshire Boulevard

Los Angeles, CA

The art deco Bullocks Wilshire was designed by John and Donald Parkinson and completed in 1929. It was a department store run by John Bullock that was the luxury compliment of his Bullocks store in downtown. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places (#78000685). The store went into decline in the 1970s and after a fated acquisition by Macy's and damage in the 1992 riots, Bullocks Wilshire closed in 1993. The building was acquired by Southwestern Law School the following year, and when I visited in 2013 was adapted for use as their library.
